A former poacher who now works to protect elephants stands in his village near Archers Post, Kenya. By and large, these poachers are opportunists. They are desperately poor; they see the enormous amount of money that can be obtained for horns and ivory on the black market, and they will risk anything to get it. By giving them alternative livelihoods, it gives them a way out.
