At the Journalism School, we shoot our video footage with Canon C100s, which produce AVCHD video files. To use these files with Premiere CC- the software that we use to edit footage- we have to transcode them first.
Transcoding is the process of changing one type of file to another type. In this tutorial, we’ll explain how to change the AVCHD files that the C100s produce, into ProRes files that are easier to edit with Premiere CC.

If you have any questions about working with Premiere CC or transcoding your footage, make an appointment with the Digital Media Associates, and we’ll be happy to help.
